NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) was introduced in the stream of higher education in the year 1969-70, the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi. The main aim of NSS is to provide opportunities to the students to acquire valuable practical experience through service to society. It changes the temperament of students towards humanity, helps them achieve all kinds of development including leadership qualities. Eligible NSS volunteers are entitled to get 5% grace marks for further studies. The primary objective of NSS is personality development through community service. Community activities such as the construction of village roads, sanitary works, imparting education on health, communicable diseases, agriculture, pest and plant diseases, etc. are taken up by the NSS volunteers. There are two NSS units in the college. Membership is open to all students.
